Propagation Info

The Australian Space Weather Forecasting Centre from the Bureau of Meteorology provides a range of information relevant to amateur radio. Details of HF propagation and ionospheric conditions can be found on their website.

Check out the Solar Ham website created by VE3EN. This page provides up to date solar conditions information useful for amateur radio operations. The website provides detailed information on the current solar cycle and solar flares affecting HF activity.

Information of global propagation is found at the  kc2g propagation website which provides near-real-time maps and data about ionospheric conditions. It shows the maximum useable frequency (MUF) which is the highest frequency that is expected to bounce off of the ionosphere on a path 3000km long.

Tropospheric Conditions Forecast Map for VK can be found on the William Hepburn DX Info Forecasting website. This provides forecasts in 3 hour intervals for the first 36 hours, then in intervals of 6 hours for the remainder of the six days. Maps are updated around 1800UTC daily.
